SALIENT FEATURES OF EXTRUSION MACHINES
Extruder
SSMECH extruder design is COST EFFECTIVE and
productive to process LDPE/LLDPE/HM – HDPE and equipped with –
Robust steel structured,
heavy duty helical gear box with proven thrust bearing rated for high efficiency with a
cooling coil to prevent excess heat.
Gas nitrided screws and barrel
with trouble free runs, longer life wear resistance grooved feed barrel, screw is machined
to very close tolerances, super finished to ensure timely and uniform melting of the
polymer.
Barrel covered by bend heaters for
excellent thermal stability, divided into suitable nos. of temperature zones with
thermocouples.
Efficient cooling arrangement
through blowers is provided to maintain the temperature.
A heavy guage sheet metal hopper
with side glass, slide gate and material dumping chute on the feed section of the barrel.

Motor thyristor control or AC motor frequency control are optionally available.
Die assembly
- Oscillating die head, a die
and a die ring is made of special alloy steel and machined to very close tolerance, super
finished to mirror polish and hard chrome plated for better thickness control.
- Die is spiral mandrel type, center
feed die to give uniform flow equally distributed, streak free film for excellent quality.
- Die lip gap is adjustable by way
of high tensile spacing bolts.
- Covered with bend heaters in
required no. of zones with thermocouples.
Screen Changer
- Manual cassette type screen
changer is provided between the extruder and the die adaptors. The screen changer is made
of high tensile alloy steel, hardened and ground to avoid any distortion and subsequent
melt leakage. These are easy
to operate manually.
Air cooling ring
- High efficiency aluminium
cast dual lip air cooling ring for the cooling of the film bubble mounted on the die cart.
- A circular casing with many air
entries and circular ceramic inserts as an air guide for air impinging on the film bubble.
- Adjustable cooling ring is
designed to give evenly distributed voluminous airflow at low velocity.
- Separate DC drive blower with free
flow mounting and a damper wall to regulate the air flow.
Take off tower
- Fabricated from heavy-duty
steel sections and sheets, houses with nip roller assembly, flattening board etc.
- Nip roller assembly is consisting
of one rubber coated roller and one ebonite roller, slided by manually and is driven by a
suitably rated thyriestorized DC motor through reduction gear box.
- Collapsing board sub assembly is
mounted ganging on the nip roller assembly
Control panel
- Easy to
operate, process control PID panel for the plant is made from steel sections and MS sheet
with necessary electricals inputs and out going connections in addition to –
temperature controllers and thermocouples, actuators for blower, compressor, water pump,
main motors etc with necessary fuses, connectors, relays, voltmeters, ammeters etc., three
pulse thyriestor drives for nip take-up DC motor.
- Using international brands
of pneumatic/ electrical/mechanical inputs which complies fully with EEC safety
regulations.
Winder
- Winders are available in
different versions, from manual to fully automatic types and for varying line speeds,
larger dia, chrome rollers, bowed rollers, centre and multiple stations.
